This thing was a godsend for naming and renaming folders and, best of all, editing those filenames with spaces and weird characters in the names quickly and easily. I can't forget to mention the Bulk Rename Utility. Use these to scan regularly for duplicate files, orphans, etc. Helpful Programs that I use for organization are below: Once you get going, you'll be shocked at how quickly this folder grows and I'm willing to put money on you wanting to do some pruning later on :) I really would recommend taking the time to set up a cohesive Downloads Folder for any game, but for this style of game in particular, it has made life so much easier when it comes time to inevitably trim out that unused or problematic CC.

Just keep that folder organized so that if you ever delete a mesh from your Download location, then you can easily go and delete the recolors as well.
They don't need to be in the Downloads folder itself for the game to read them, and will cut down a bit on your load times (Clothing and Hair recolors sadly will not be read this way and must be kept in the main Downloads folder). It is specifically for Walls, Floors and Object Recolors. It's all good now.I also have a new folder that is located outside the Downloads folder, I named mine "Recolors" and it is located in the EA Games>The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder where you have all of your main folders like Downloads, Cameras, SavedSims, etc. Though I figured a little trick to get it working again, uninstalling Mansion & Garden then reinstall. And I know it's that because it's the only CC added for the past 2 weeks and the game was fully functional until 3 days ago. I'm totally gonna get hit with a hammer for this, but my last issue with bodyshop crashing was when I added some meshes I was missing from Club Crimsyn. I COULD organize those 10,000 files but I want them all kind of, quarantined at this point until I figure out how bad that invisible trash cans are bothering me in my game.
I have about 200 files that have no preview image in Clean Installer and no information listed in Delphy's Organizer so, you see my on-going dilemma. For instance, if the CC creator didn't add ANY information in their files as to what kind of *.package file is contained, then no amount of file organizer's will help. I've absolutely heard of both of those file organizer's but they don't help in every situation. In fact, over ninety percent of the worlds population are using some form of Delphi every day. It is one of the most widely used and versatile computing platforms for both the commercial and academic users.

If you have any expansions at all you shouldn't be using it! There are other hacks that will accomplish the same thing look over at InSim or MATY. Delphys Download Organiser is a tool used to scan and categorise all the custom content you have downloaded for the Sims 2. Mod The Sims - Delphys Download Organiser - v1. Merola's Mirror isn't broken, it's really really old-it came out pre-expansions. I haven't read through this whole thread yet, but I hope people who report bad files have tried redownloading the file at least once before claiming it to be bad? At least in my experience most of the files that crash my game were corrupted during download, and a redownload will fix it. Good luck (and hope you're not on a Mac, because then you're on your own again). Neither are 100% accurate, so don't go overboard, and if you haven't used the Download Organizer before, don't use the orphan scanner unless you're prepared to face the consequences (it's not able to accurately determine what is an orphan or not, so if you delete everything it claims to be an orphan you will get a lot of recolour-less meshes and meshless recolours.).

It's rather nifty like that.Ĭlean Installer is a must for when you install lots, but it also highlights hacks and mods in a different colour, so you can browse through your lot folder (the one in your downloads folder, presumably) and look after hacks/mods that came with the lot.
SHOWER_SCREAM, have you tried either Delphy's Download Organizer or The Clean Installer?ĭownload Organizer will show files that are mods or hacks with a different colour, you can search files by name (just try trash or trash can, it will also search ingame name and descriptions), and so on. A thread for really bad CC that WILL break your game.
